Airline Pilot Draws on Real World Experience Penning an Action Novel About a Pilot Turned Assassin

Korean Air jumbo jet pilot Captain Adam Hamedi claims he has never killed anyone in real life. But on paper—now that’s a different story!

Oak Point, Texas. August 17, 20011 – Austin Hunter, the protagonist of Wings of Vengeance, the debut action/adventure novel by Captain Adam Hamedi, proudly wears the pilot’s uniform, just like his creator, who works as a pilot for Korean Air. But the similarities soon diminish, as Hamedi’s main character, after suffering the devastating loss of his wife and daughter to a brutal rape and murder, develops an unquenchable thirst for exacting vengeance wherever it may be needed.

Wherever, indeed. As a respected airline pilot, Hamedi’s Hunter has the unique opportunity to travel around the globe, unsuspected and undetected. And with assistance on the inside from a Texas lawman who helps him cover his tracks, he mixes business travel with his personal pleasure of ridding the world of conscience-deprived thugs like those who killed his own family.

“As an avid reader of action/adventure fiction by the likes of Tom Clancy and Robert Ludlum, I wondered why no one had ever written a story featuring an airline pilot as an assassin,” says Hamedi. “With the ability to travel far and wide, and the respect of the community, it seemed like a perfect match up.” And so Hamedi decided to give it a try, and by all accounts has succeeded with his debut novel.

In addition to his years of globetrotting in the captain’s seat for various airlines, Hamedi brings an unusually unique and broad perspective to his fiction. Born in Ghana to Lebanese parents, Hamedi was sent to live with his grandparents in Lebanon at the age of eleven months. At the age of six, he was placed in a boarding school in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli. Later, Hamedi attended the University of Egypt at Cairo, moved to Texas, where he met his wife, and moved his family around for years, living in Anchorage, Tokyo, Bangkok, Cyprus, and eventually settling down in Oak Point, Texas. The experience of vastly different peoples, places and cultures informs Hamedi’s storytelling, helping him bring his tale to life.

Also impressive, Hamedi’s first language is Lebanese, yet he writes in English cleanly and fluidly, avoiding awkward phrasing and obvious grammatical mistakes.

“Like many people, I’ve often dreamed up scenarios of action and adventure. But I’d never actually written anything because I thought I wasn’t a writer,” confesses Hamedi. “I hope people will realize that if an immigrant to this country whose first language is not English can do what I’ve done, then they will develop the confidence to embark on their own projects, whatever they may be,” he adds.

“Although we share some similarities, Austin Hunter is not my alter ego. I promise, I’m not a violent assassin,” assures Hamedi with a smile. “I love my wife and daughter, my job and my otherwise quiet and peaceful life in Oak Point, Texas. I just had a story inside of me that I wanted to share,” concludes the author.

With personal belongings stowed, tray tables up, belts fastened, and seats in full upright position, readers will enjoy accompanying Austin Hunter on a suspense-filled whirlwind trip, making stops in Amsterdam, Boston, Lebanon, London and Texas. Whether you have any upcoming travel plans or not, Adam Hamedi’s Wings of Vengeance is the perfect page-turner to help you escape the heat of the summer for a few enjoyable hours.
