Australia – March 13th, 2009. Today Ubisoft announced the launch in Australia and New Zealand of two brand new immersive games designed for young girls on Nintendo DS™. Imagine Doctor©, which will be released on March 19th, 2009, will allow players to live the exciting and socially challenging life of a new MD freshly arrived in a new town, while Imagine My Restaurant©, to be released on March 26th, 2009 is a gastronomic cooking simulation game that plunges the player into the elegant environment of a prestigious French restaurant.
Imagine Doctor: become the new beloved MD in town!
Imagine Doctor puts the player in the role of a freshly graduated young doctor who arrives in a new town and settles in her own office. As a young and dynamic woman, you will have to practise your medical knowledge to cure people and prevent them from being infected by a mysterious epidemic that suddenly breaks out in the small city… The game is based on smart and intuitive game play that focuses both on the technical skills you will develop and on your ability to build a social life in order to become the most beloved doctor in town. To increase your accuracy and experience, you will need help from other specialists: train and learn new techniques, listen to their advice and improve your diagnosis thanks to the use of tools like radiograph. Through fun and various mini-games, young girls will have the opportunity to make precise diagnosis, deliver prescriptions and advices, but also to customise their office in order to accommodate patients in a welcoming place and truly experience the work of a real-life MD.
By improving their skills, the players will soon have the keys to solve a mystery: an epidemic is raging in town and seems to be related to the charismatic and greedy former doctor George and its miraculous “youth potion”… Fortunately, young gamers will be able to rely on a large group of friends that will help them accomplish their task and with whom they will build strong relationships. By providing a real-life activity experience, adventure, customising and relationship-building all in one game, Imagine Doctor perfectly fits with young girls’ desires and offers them hours of fun and fantasy!
Imagine My Restaurant: the must-have game for all young cooking lovers
Imagine My Restaurant is specifically designed for girls aged 8 to 12 and provides a completely different experience than other cooking games. It is a “gastronomic cooking simulation” game which takes place in the elegant environment of a prestigious French restaurant. Under the direction of a famous chef, the player must fulfil the clients’ expectations, and is judged on dishes’ quality (respect of the recipes), execution speed and presentation…
The gameplay focuses on this highly-skilled cooking: the player will use the Nintendo DS™ stylus to drag ingredients, chop vegetables, arrange food on the plate, managing the various stations in the kitchen in order to realize the starter, a main and a dessert before the time limit. In addition, the wide range of meals available (over 70), organised in a few dozen missions and listed in a cookbook are each available in 3 difficulty levels, allowing the player to increase progressively her cooking skills and providing longer gaming time. And for those who are interested in adventure, the game also features an ongoing plot with a food critic that desperately wants to trap the restaurant staff and take away a star rating.
The Imagine range: a brand that fits perfectly with young girls’ expectations
Young girls from 6 to 14 years old love to rehearse adult and social roles. More than video-games, the Imagine titles are simulation experiences that allow girls to live their dreams. Created in 2007, the Imagine brand has seduced more than 2.5 million players and is today young girls’ favourite video-games line-up. All Imagine games are based on the same positive values and principles that young girls like and their parents appreciate: non-violence, respect for the others and for the nature, love for animals, sportsmanship, sharing and creativity.
