“See The Woman” by Lawrence Block – Today’s Short Fiction Release from L.A. Noire: The Collected Stories

“You’d see young troops come back from the front lines and their faces’d still be young. But not their eyes, on account of what they’d seen.”

Lawrence Block is an award-winning crime fiction writer with the rare distinction of having been inducted as a Grand Master by the Mystery Writers of America – essentially a hall of fame of suspense writers where he is joined by the elite company of such legends as Agatha Christie, James M. Cain, Elmore Leonard and Stephen King.

We are honored to have Mr. Block as one of the authors contributing to the L.A. Noire: The Collected Stories series of short fiction inspired by the game – and today, we present his original entry, “See the Woman” – a poignant and painful look at domestic abuse and its harrowing aftermath as a retired L.A. cop recounts the story that has haunted and colored his life.

“See the Woman” debuts today exclusively at MulhollandBooks.com – the official website of our publishing partner on L.A. Noire: The Collected Stories – and look for it to be added to rockstargames.com/lanoire/stories in downloadable PDF and online reader formats as well very soon.

Expect more short story releases from the collection through next week.

L.A. Noire: The Collected Stories will be available as a complete anthology at all major eBook retailers on June 6th (you can pre-order it now via Amazon, iTunes, and Barnes&Noble).
