Good size, well priced and fully featured… BenQ Australia releases the M11 Camcorder

Sydney, Australia, May 2011: Smart engineering, functionality and intuitive operation combine to make the new BenQ M11 Camcorder an appealing purchase for anyone looking for a video camera that not only captures precious family memories in 1080p Full HD, but provides scope for movie production with professional touches like time-lapse photography and slow-motion or accelerated playback.

At an amazing RRP of just $249.00, this handy little camcorder is packed with innovative features. Pocket-sized and easy to operate, the M11 is fitted with a 10MP CMOS sensor, 5X optical zoom and a 3.0”16:9 touch screen display ensuring a professional result when used by even the most inexperienced photographer.

But it’s the added extras like the camera’s time-lapse recording feature and options for slow-motion and accelerated playback functions, as well as a 3sec pre-recording and dual stream recording abilities that make BenQ’s M11 excellent value for money and more than just your average video camera.

Said Chee F. Chung, BenQ’s general manager for Australia, “The M11 Camcorder allows you to record a flower bloom, a rainstorm approach or a sunset in time-lapse mode and then play it back at accelerated speed for dynamic video imagery. Nature like you’ve never seen it before can be captured and stored on the M11 Camcorder. Amateur photographers will love experimenting with the time-lapse function but so to will kids –in fact, it’s educational and entertaining for people of all ages.

“Add to this the Camcorders ‘Dual-Stream’ recording which creates two separate video files as footage is being filmed. One can be in high-definition while the other can be a compact version for uploading and sharing on the web. No need to convert at a later date for sharing the footage with your friends and family via the internet.

“ISO settings can be confusing,”said Chung. “For this reason, the M11 offers advanced touch-activated auto settings – simply tap on the screen where the light levels look right to the discerning eye and the correct exposure level will automatically be set,” she said.

Viewing playback on the M11 is exceptionally flexible. Vision can be slowed down to as little as 1/64th of the original speed, or sped up by up to 64 times when filmed at a resolution of 432X240. Scene mode selections allow vision to be captured in up to ten shooting modes: Auto, Night, Sports, Landscape, Portrait, Sunset, Sand/Snow, Flower, Firework and Aquarium.

Continued Chung, “The M11, along with all BenQ Camcorders, offers a 3sec pre-recording feature which actually records and saves three seconds of footage before the user activates the record function. This feature is unique to BenQ and is particularly useful when taking action footage,” she said.

The M11 is scheduled for release in Australia in May, and will retail for $249.00.

Powered by a 1050 mAh NP60 Lithium-ion rechargeable battery, the M11 records and stores footage on SD/SDHC card (up to 32GB).
