Xbox at The Game Awards
Xbox closed 2024 strong at The Game Awards, with the first gameplay trailer for The Outer Worlds 2 (launching 2025) and wins across categories like Best Audio Design and Best Performance (Melina Juergens) for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, and Best Adaptation for Fallout. If you missed the show, here’s the highlights:
Obsidian Entertainment and Xbox Game Studios revealed a first gameplay trailer for The Outer Worlds 2, confirming that the first-person sci-fi RPG will release in 2025 on Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox app on Windows PC, Steam, and PlayStation 5. It will also be available on day one with Game Pass.
The Outer Worlds 2 promises a fresh adventure in Arcadia, a brand-new colony to explore and the home of skip drive technology. As an Earth Directorate agent, you must uncover the source of devastating rifts threatening the entire galaxy. Obsidian, as always, offers plenty of options for how you build and play your character, engage with your crew of companions, and shape your narrative. Your worlds, your way!
Ahead of the game’s release next year, The Outer Worlds 2 will be featured in the upcoming Secret Level anthology series, streaming on Prime Video. Tune in on December 17 for a short story that takes place between The Outer Worlds and The Outer Worlds 2.
