World of Tanks on PlayStation®4 to Hold Its First eSports Tournament
July 12, 2016 — World of Tanks on PlayStation®4 will be holding its debut eSports tournament, just six months after the game launched on Sony’s PlayStation®4 console. Asia will be the first region ever to have a World of Tanks on PlayStation®4 tournament, and the registration period is open to everyone from now until July 27. The match itself will take place on July 30, 18:00 UTC+8.
Whether you’re new to World of Tanks on PlayStation®4, have been a veteran on World of Tanks PC—or any other platform—this is your chance to enter and gun for glory. Steel Arena 2016, held in the APAC region, will make the player community the stars of the show. Those in the region will test their tournament skills before the CIS, EU, and NA.
Showing that you’re the cream of the console crop can also snag you some awesome prizes. If you take first place, then the Pz.Kpfw. V/IV, Garage slot, and 7 days of Premium Account time is yours. Second place lets you get behind the wheel of the SU-85I, a Garage slot, and 3 days of Premium Account time. For coming in third, the might of the German Pz.Kpfw T 25 and Garage slot will be waiting for you. Finally, in fourth place, the Type 3 Chi Nu Kai and Garage slot are ready and waiting.
“It’s thanks to the efforts of our players and our team that we were able to host a tournament only six months after launch,” said Jini Jun, Asia Senior eSports Manager. “We can’t wait to mark this first huge milestone and look forward to bigger and better eSports events in the future.”
