Wonder Woman #43 Review
The comic starts with Steve Trevor narrating the issue as A.R.G.U.S., Wonder Woman and her twin brother are battling their way through thousands of killer drones. Steve also comments that Jason is a ‘douche’ as not only has he a lot to learn but he doesn’t take kindly to direction. Given that, Wonder Woman #43 is a Steve Trevor centric issue for the most part as he questions Jason on how he received this armour from the ‘giants’ and more concerningly, no recollection on the said event. Needless to say, Steve does not trust Jason.
Elsewhere Diana is interrogating the Furies to discover what Darkseid’s plans are, however instead of using her magic lassoo, she decides to use trial by combat to discover the answers. Unfortunately her answers are not given because Darkseid has played his next move as he uses a Boom tube to teleport into A.R.G.U.S. in order to steal the remaining artifacts to cement his plan. The issue ends with Darkseid finally facing Diana on the battlefield.
Final Thoughts?
I’m really enjoying Wonder Woman #43 and James Robinson is kicking goals again with an enjoyable story that is furthering to the mythology of this Amazonian Princess. It is brought to life by the amazing art of Marco Santucci who creates that blockbuster experience for one of our favourite DCU heroes, the amazing Wonder Woman
