SMASH! in Sydney
COMPETITIONS OPEN TO AUSTRALIAN RESIDENTS ONLY
Sydney’s
premiere Japanese pop culture convention, SMASH! Sydney Manga
and Anime Show, returns for a huge two-day event from 8th
to 9th August at Rosehill Gardens.
Special
guests for this year’s event include Japan’s most popular cosplayers,
Reika and KANAME☆,
renowned for their high quality and realistic character portrayals, and
the Japan Foundation Sydney is proud to present voice-actor
Noriaki Sugiyama, best known for his roles on Naruto,
Bleach and Fate/Stay Night.
Also making
an appearance will be Creative Intelligence Arts’ CEO, Hiroaki Yura,
who raised over $1 million USD through crowd funding for CIA’s first
indie video game Project Phoenix and international entrepreneur
and director and host of Culture Japan, Danny Choo.
The show will
feature cosplay events, screenings of the latest anime releases, video
gaming events, karaoke, guest panels and workshops, card gaming events
and much more.
Fans can also
visit the Exhibitors and Artists Market, where a collection of
handcrafted merchandise, artworks and manga will be on sale.
With more than 13,500 fans attending in 2014,
SMASH! is
attracting a growing number of fans every year and giving enthusiasts
the chance to celebrate their fandom in a social environment.
