If you have a business, office or even home that needs a security camera, then the DCS-4602EV might be the camera that you are looking for. It’s basically a FULL HD (1080p) PoE (Power over Ethernet) network camera that is not only vandal proof but weatherproof, uses motion detection and has night vision with up to 20 metres. Add in 3D noise reduction to minimise poor lightning conditions and this product is the perfect product to protect your property via your existing computer network architecture.

The first thing that you notice about the Vigilance camera from D-Link is the build. It’s quite a heavy camera and is extremely sturdy. As a result it is vandal (to an extent) and weather proof. It also comes with everything you need to install the item that includes safety instructions and a quick installation guide. Should you have any issues, D-Link is also available. The last item it comes with is a Business Class Networking CD which allows you to setup the product thanks to its easy to use wizard.

Once the product is connected to your network, you can run the wizard via the CD which basically connects your camera to your network. For those wishing to access the camera directly via its IP address, this can be done via a web browser at 192.168.0.20. The quality of the camera recordings is very good and with its 1080p video, it easily allows you to see your property and quite clearly, especially if someone is on your property. Furthermore, as it’s an Ethernet camera, it does support continuous monitoring.

So whether you’re monitoring private property or even public property, it’s definitely a great item to have as it quietly monitors 24 hours a day. To access the camera or record, the product can be accessed via the D-ViewCam application which is a relatively easy to use surveillance software package that allows you to setup rules like triggers, zones or monitoring at particular times.
