The Oculus Rift has a March release date at a cost of $599
Oculus have just announced that the Oculus Rift will launch in March and will set you back $599/£499. You can also pre-order the headset if you’re really keen. For us Aussies, that’s around $850AUD but with “transport” costs to Australia, I’m guessing this will be closer to $899AUD when released locally.
However before you get ready to jump into Virtual Reality, you also need to make sure your PC can handle it and the recommended specifications are as follows;
- graphics card: NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD R9 290 equivalent or greater
- processor: Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater
- memory: 8GB+ RAM
- output: Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output
- input: 3x USB 3.0 ports plus 1x USB 2.0 port
- operating system: Windows 7 SP1 64 bit or newer
