The Day is Saved! The Powerpuff Girls & DC’s Nubia Headline MultiVersus Season 3, Beginning Sept. 17

New Trailer Reveals First Gameplay of The Powerpuff Girls

Warner Bros. Games have announced that MultiVersus will be adding The Powerpuff Girls and DC’s Nubia to its growing roster of characters as part of Season 3: Sugar, Spice, & Everything Nice. Based on the superhero trio from the popular animated series, The Powerpuff Girls will be available when MultiVersus Season 3 launches on Sept. 17. DC Super Hero and new Queen of The Amazons, Nubia, will arrive later in the season.

The heavy hitting, superpowered trio of Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles will be flying in from Townsville to put all bad guys in their place. In the new trailer, The Powerpuff Girls’ fighting skills as an Assassin class character are on full display, including their unique team up abilities to punch, kick, and bash opponents together as one cohesive wrecking machine, along with each taking turns as the leader to put their own spin on special moves. The video also provides a first look at the Rowdyruff Boys and Dynamo Suits character variants for The Powerpuff Girls available on Sept. 17, along with a new battle-torn “Destroyed” version of the City of Townsville map that fans of the series will recognize, coming later in the season.

Additionally, Season 3 will add the new Midnight Showing map, allowing players to battle against the backdrop of the movie theatre locale inspired by the Gremlins (1984) film.

Developed by Player First Games, MultiVersus is available now as a free download for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), with full cross-play and cross-progression support.

The free-to-play platform fighter features an ever-expanding roster of popular characters based on Warner Bros. Discovery franchises. The announced roster of characters includes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Black Adam, The Joker, and Nubia (DC); Shaggy and Velma (Scooby-Doo); Bugs Bunny, Tasmanian Devil a.k.a. Taz, and Marvin the Martian (Looney Tunes); Arya Stark (Game of Thrones); Tom & Jerry; Finn the Human, Jake the Dog, and Banana Guard (Adventure Time); Steven Universe and Garnet (Steven Universe); Iron Giant; LeBron James (Space Jam: A New Legacy); Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith (Rick and Morty); Gizmo and Stripe (Gremlins); Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th); Agent Smith (The Matrix); Samurai Jack; Beetlejuice; The Powerpuff Girls; and an extraordinary original creature named Reindog.
