Supanova Is “Up, UP & AWAY”, Announcing Its First Supa-Stars Of 2025!
Christmas has come early for Supa-Fans in Melbourne and on the Gold Coast! Following the monumental milestone events in Adelaide and Brisbane earlier this month, Supanova Comic Con & Gaming has revealed their first wave of Supa-Star guests slated for 2025, en route to Victoria, 29-30 March, and Queensland, 12-13 April.
Leading the charge is the CW’s Last Son of Krypton, Supa-Fan fave Tyler Hoechlin, back on Australian shores after taking Sydney and Perth by storm in June of last year. Best known for his stint as the Man of Steel in Superman & Lois, Hoechlin rose to fame via his role as Derek Hale in Teen Wolf and can now be heard as the legendary villain Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
From One-Winged Angels to The Wings of Freedom, the animation sensations will be out in force next March and April, led by Attack on Titan Supa-Stars Trina Nishimura and Bryce Papenbrook* (Melbourne only). Perhaps best known as the voices of AoT leads Mikasa Ackerman and Eren Yeager respectively, fans can otherwise hear Nishimura as the Hearing Hero: Earphone Jack in My Hero Academia; and Papenbrook as Inosuke in Demon Slayer, and Cat Noir in Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir.
His titular co-star of Miraculous, Cristina Vee a.k.a. Ladybug, will also return, representing the fan-favourite franchise on the Gold Coast. Chainsaw Man himself, Ryan Colt Levy, will slash his way exclusively into Melbourne, while fans in both cities will have the electrifying chance to meet certified Pokémon Master Sarah Natochenny, Ash Ketchum in the later seasons of Pokémon.
Also set to make his debut Supanova appearance is Lloyd Owen, Elendil in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Currently starring in the Amazon hit prequel, Owen, too, has spent his fair share of time in the recording booth, lending his voice to Theodor “Ted” Faro in the award-winning Horizon Zero Dawn video game series.
And that’s not all for film and TV fans! From a galaxy far, far away comes puppetry professional Mike Quinn, the Supa-Star behind Nien Nunb in Star Wars, plus so many more! Personally chosen by Jim Henson and Frank Oz for projects including The Muppets, The Dark Crystal, and Labyrinth, Quinn most recently provided animatronic lip-sync and his first Star Wars voice in Andor.
The Star Wars legend is joined by Supanova mainstay Matt Doran, Episode II’s reformed death sticks dealer Elan Sleazebaggano as well as Mouse in The Matrix, appearing only in Melbourne courtesy of the Sons of Obiwan Saber Academy.
If comic books are more your scene, look no further than international Supa-Star Whilce Portacio, making the trip out with the convention for the first time since 2017. Portacio is the creator of X-Men’s Bishop, as well as one of the legendary founders of publishing giant Image Comics.
Each city is already slated to receive an exclusive Big Two comic creator, with renowned concept and cover artist Artgermheading for Melbourne; and Mico Suayan, recently of Joker/Harley: Criminal Sanity fame, joining the fun on the Gold Coast.
Tickets to the events are expected to go on sale in early 2025, so mark your calendars for the last week of March, Melbourne fans; and Queenslanders, the second week of April!
