What some gamers don’t know is that you need a decent mouse pad to not only compliment your gaming mouse but also get that additional edge and Roccat have launched the RAVIO that gives users a sturdy place for their virtual battles. For gamers, it’s like having something to carry your virtual guns!
The Raivo boasts some great features that include a micro-granular surface for smooth navigation and more importantly, a non-slip backing to ensure that the pad doesn’t move when the gaming action heats up. Both these features work really well with the mouse pad.
Another great aspect is that the Raivo looks the part with the stylised design, the impressive Roccat logo plus it comes in three colours that include Lightning Blue (reviewed), Stealth Black and Midnight Black. Overall, it’s a well designed gaming mouse pad that ensures your virtual battles won’t get interrupted.

Once out of the packaging, the first thing you notice about the Raivo is the high quality material used to create the product which feels quite sturdy. I also love the “gaming” look with the stylised Roccat logo and in terms of mainstream pads, it measures at 350 x 270 x 2mm so it’s quite large. It’s definitely a well designed gaming mouse pad with the end-user in mind when it was created. My only slight criticism about the gaming pad are the cornered edges but this is quite superficial as I prefer a more square design. Even so, it still does the job very well.
We tested the Raivo with a variety of games such as Battlefield, Tomb Raider and with Photoshop plus general Windows usage. All in all, the mouse pad performed exceptionally well with all titles, especially games and Photoshop which made it easy gliding from one side of the pad to the other. As the mouse pad is larger than most mainstream pads, it is also quite comfortable and I like that my hand rests of the pad opposed to the desk. Another highlight of the gaming pad is that due to the material used in creating it, it should be resistant against curls, especially the edges.
Final Thoughts
The Raivo is a great mouse pad from Roccat that definitely increases the accuracy of your mouse, especially when it comes to the DPI. It’s also quite smooth to use and I love how the mouse just sticks to your table thanks to the non-slip backing. Overall the design works well, especially the great gaming look which would look perfect in any gamer’s artillery.
