Rethink Possibilities: Huawei Brings the Ground-Breaking Mate 30 Pro to Australia
Huawei has announced the ground-breaking Mate 30 Pro will be available in Australia on the 21 November, and consumers can register interest from today. Equipped with a quad-Leica camera that includes two 40MP sensors, a 6.53-inch ultra-curved screen, superfast 40w wired charging, and the Kirin 990 chipset for revolutionary performance, the Mate 30 Pro rethinks possibilities for smartphone technology.
From recording a hummingbird’s wings flapping at 80 times per second, to taking detailed time-lapse shots in low light, Mate 30 Pro offers professional-standard videography tools. The 40MP Cinecamera makes Ultra-Low-light, Ultra-slow Motion and Ultra-Wide-Angle Time-lapse capture possible, for truly outstanding footage.
Holding an unbeaten score for its smartphone camera by DXO Mark, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro sets the benchmark for mobile photography. The large 40MP 1/1.7-inch SuperSensing Leica lens, combined with advanced RYYB algorithm and enhanced image signal processing, means Mate 30 Pro offers luminous, balanced images with vivid colour — even in low light. Upgraded AI HDR+ and AI Segmentation ensures further processing for outstanding image quality.
Bolstered by an 8MP Telephoto Camera for up to 5x hybrid and 30x Digital Zoom, and a 3D depth sensor for Bokeh effects across video and photography, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro has the most versatile smartphone camera package available. The 32MP front shooter is also impressive, enhanced with a 3D Depth Sensing Camera and for perfect selfies, and Gesture Sensor for intuitive, no-touch controls.
Continuing Huawei’s lineage of striking smartphone design, the Mate 30 Pro features a 6.53-inch ultra-curved screen that extends over the sides of the device for uncompromised viewing. Physical buttons are replaced by simple side-touch controls, offering users more seamless interaction.
The Mate 30 Pro’s large 4500mAh battery means busy Aussies can stay productive for longer, while the 40w SuperCharge accessory offers lightning-fast charging speeds. The Mate 30 Pro’s wireless charging support is the fastest available, enabling quick powering of compatible wearables while on-the-go.

The new Mate 30 Pro will run on EMUI10, based on open source Android. Huawei Mobile Services will also be pre-loaded, and will include the Huawei AppGallery, Huawei Browser and the new Huawei Assistant. The Huawei AppGallery boasts over 45,000 apps integrated with Huawei Mobile Services core, has over 390 million monthly active users worldwide and has recorded over 180 billion downloads per year.
Huawei Mate 30 Pro is available from the Huawei Authorised Experience Store, Mobileciti and select HappyTel stores from Wednesday 21 November in Space Silver, at an RRP of $1,599. Interest can be registered for a limited number of devices here from 7 November and will include bonus FreeBuds 3 (valued at $299).
