Remastered adventure game The Shivah: Kosher Edition coming Nov 21 to PC and iOS
Why do bad things happen to good people? This is the central question of The Shivah, an indie adventure set in a poor New York City synagogue. A remastered version of this pensive point-and-click game will release November 21 for PC and iOS.
Rabbi Russell Stone has grown cynical and bitter as his synagogue’s funds and membership dwindle. He’s on the verge of packing it in when a congregation member dies under mysterious circumstances, leaving him a large sum of money. Can he accept the windfall and move on? His conscience says no. Step into Rabbi Stone’s shoes as he travels all over Manhattan to uncover the truth.
Originally released in 2006, The Shivah was the commercial debut of Wadjet Eye Games, a NYC-based indie studio that has gone on to create the Blackwell mystery series and publish break-out hits Gemini Rue, Resonance, and Primordia. Like all of Wadjet Eye’s games, The Shivah is a retro-styled adventure with an emphasis on story, characters, and puzzle solving. The new “Kosher Edition” has been updated with higher quality artwork that puts its pixel art graphics on par with Wadjet Eye’s more recent releases.
The PC version of The Shivah: Kosher Edition can be preordered now for $3.99 (20% off the regular $4.99 price) from http://www.shivahgame.com. Upon its Nov. 21 launch, the game will also be on Steam and GOG. The iOS version will sell for $1.99 from the App Store.
