Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Remix PSP
This would have to be the best action
sports game to come along in a long time on a portable device! THUG2
Remix is almost a direct port of the game on the PS2 with a few new
levels thrown in for good measure and a kick ass gaming experience to
boot.
The
story itself is pretty cute as well. Tony Hawk and Bam Margera have put
together two teams to go around the world on a competition involving
massive amounts of insanity! The teams are picked and around the world
you go.
For
fans of the series you can rest assured that Shaba games who converted
this for Neversoft have added four new levels exclusive to the PSP and
the title supports up to four players for wireless multiplayer (tested
with 3 players no problems).
The
idea is the same as the other games in the series. You get a series of
things to accomplish before you can progress to the next level, all of
which are really well thought out and a lot of fun. You can tell that
thought has gone into making every level, even the new ones are as
skateable and entertaining as possible.
One of
the things that I must bring your attention to is the quality of the
extra levels on this game. They are not just tacked on crap but
actually high quality playable levels that do expand the play of the
game and are the saving grace that makes this more than just a brilliant
port of the game off the PS2.
THUG2
Remix brings to the party the awesome sounds of the PS2 soundtrack with
my fave being the Johnny Cash classic “Ring of Fire” Environmental
sounds come across perfectly and overall adds greatly to just how cool
this game is.
I’d
say that if you are into extreme sports that this is a must play title,.
It’s the best game of it’s type currently on the system however if I was
to take a pessimistic viewpoint, it’s the first title that you can say
is pretty much a major port of an existing title with some cool extras
added on.
I’d
recommend this title without hesitation. It’s well put together, a
delight to play and truly does justice to one of the best franchises out
there. Thanks Activision!
