PlayStation Announcements – State of Play February 2025

Another PlayStation State of Play broadcast has wrapped with some epic reveals from Housemarque, Days Gone Remastered, Lost Soul Aside and more. See below for a round-up of the biggest announcements:

Announcing Saros, the next game from Housemarque coming 2026

Today we got the announcement that Saros, a new third-person action title that evolves the satisfying core gameplay introduced in Returnal, is coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro in 2026.

Saros is the ultimate evolution of the Housemarque gameplay-first experience. Watch the cinematic trailer here. Saros is an action game with the haunting story of a lost off-world colony on Carcosa under an ominous eclipse. You play as Arjun Devraj, a powerful Soltari Enforcer who will stop at nothing to find who he is looking for.

Expect a first look at extended gameplay later this year.

Days Gone Remastered

Days Gone Remastered comes PlayStation 5 April 25, 2025!

This the definitive way to play Days Gone for new and returning players. Step into the dirt flecked shoes of former outlaw biker Deacon St. John and feel his desperate struggle for survival in a brutal open world ravaged by feral creatures known as Freakers. Bend Studio shared the first look at Days Gone Remastered with the announcement trailer, giving you a sneak peek of brand new content to play!

Days Gone Remastered lands on PlayStation 5 as a digital-only title. For players that have purchased Days Gone on PlayStation 4, you can upgrade to Days Gone Remastered including all new content and features for $15 AUD.

Lost Soul Aside launches on PS5 and PC May 30

Ultizero Games shares new gameplay footage and gameplay details of the action RPG that will launch on May 30 on PS5 and PC. Further information can be found on the PlayStation Blog here. Watch the pre-order trailer here.

Pre-orders will open on PS5 February 19 at 10am local time.

PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue for February: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, TopSpin 2K25, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 1 and more

On February 18, as part of Game Catalogue’s February lineup, you can enjoy Don’t Nod’s nostalgic journey through 90’s Michigan in the form of the first instalment of episodic narrative adventure Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 1.

Also part of the lineup, you can also journey to the far reaches of the galaxy in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and the vibrant artificial turf of TopSpin 2K25. Monster Hunter Wilds

In the State of Play, Capcom debuted a new trailer for the Monster Hunter Wilds, highlighting the wide variety of monsters, people, and wildlife you’ll meet, each living and finding their own way to survive in a dynamic and sometimes volatile ecosystem that can drastically change in an instant.

Borderlands 4 arrives September 23, special State of Play coming this Autumn

Got some chains holding you back? Well, it’s time, Vault Hunter! Break free into the Borderlands, because… Borderlands 4 launches on September 23 this year!

First look at Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, out Aug 29 on PS5 and PS4

Just over a year ago, at The Game Awards 2023, Sega teased the revival of several legacy franchises. Today we got a formal announcement of the first of those games: Shinobi: Art of Vengeance.

Today’s State of Play provides a first look at the game which will release August 29, 2025 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Watch the announcement trailer here.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds gameplay revealed, new mechanics detailed

New worlds await in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog racing game – Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds – introducing a unique gameplay mechanic transporting the iconic characters from the Sonic and Sega universes into new dimensions. The newest entry to the Sonic Racing series is a Sonic game, driving game, and action game all-in-one that will offer an exciting racing experience across several modes, worlds, and more!

Digimon Story Time Stranger launches 2025 on PS5

Dave the Diver x Like a Dragon crossover

Dave the Diver has been making waves with its exciting collaborations, featuring crossovers with games like Dredge and Balatro. Now, it is announcing a partnership that’s sure to make a splash: Dave the Diver is joining forces with the Like a Dragon series.

Splitgate 2 Alpha out on PS5 Feb 27

In Splitgate 2, you’ll play as an elite Ace, a futuristic athlete competing in the most popular sport in the galaxy. In your arsenal, you’ll not only have some of the sickest weapons you’ve ever seen, you’ll have a portal gun. Every player can use portals to outsmart opponents, making movement strategy as vital to your success as a steady aim.

Split Fiction

Learn about the power of friendship in Split Fiction, a boundary-pushing co-op adventure from Hazelight Studios, the masterminds behind It Takes Two.

The heroes of Split Fiction, Mio and Zoe, don’t get along at first, but soon enough they become each other’s only hopes. This journey will throw unexpected twists at them and if they want to make it through, they’ll need to have each other’s backs.

Playing as Mio or Zoe, you’ll encounter bizarre situations as the two traverse stories born from their own wild imaginations. Most importantly – they’ll face it all together.

The Midnight Walk – May 8 – PS5 & VR2

Onimusha: Way of the Sword – 2026

Onimusha: Way of the Sword tells the heroic tale of a sole samurai fighting against hordes of twisted creatures known as the Genma. Wielding an Oni Gauntlet, our new protagonist will mow down enemies in this dramatic story, set in a beautiful and eerie rendition of Kyoto. True to the series’ soul-sucking action combat, absorbing souls to restore health and use special moves in the heat of battle is key to victory.

Ahead of the launch of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the second entry in the series, Onimusha: Samurai’s Destiny, will be remastered for PlayStation 4. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater releases August 28, 2025 on PS5

New details on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, including the return of the Snake vs Monkey special game mode were revealed in today’s State of Play. The game launches August 28 on PS5.

New PixelJunk adventure, Dreams of Another, revealed for PS5 and PS VR2, out 2025

Dreams of Another is a third-person exploration-action game built around the philosophical theme, “no creation without destruction.” Rather than destroying objects by shooting—as in traditional shooting games—here, your shots materialise and create the world. This unconventional mechanic offers a gameplay experience that challenges the norms of the genre and invites players into a whole new dimension.

Unveiling Tides of Annihilation: a new PS5 action-adventure inspired by Arthurian legends

During State of Play, Eclipse Glow Studio introduced Tides of Annihilation, a new PS5 action-adventure game that thrusts you into a shattered, mystical London. Tides of Annihilation features intuitive co-op combat in a single-player experience. Players will take on the role of Gwendolyn, who wields the power of a mysterious gray fog that can manifest two spectral knights at her side. Each knight has a distinct combat role. Whether it’s charging into battle, defending against attacks, or unleashing devastating combos, players will need to strategically choose which knights to summon based on their preferred gameplay style and the challenges they face.

Metal Eden

State of Play gave the first look at Metal Eden, an adrenaline-rush sci-fi FPS, that will be releasing on PS5 May 6, 2025.

In the future, humanity ventures among the stars. To survive the journey to new star systems, humanity created the Cores. Each Core is a system capable of storing human data, preserving a digital record of a human psyche and rebuilding it upon reaching its destination. One such destination is Moebius, an artificial city built by corporations to extract precious minerals from the planet Vulcan. You are Aska, an android created by one of the city’s founders. Nexus, your creator, has one goal for you: Follow orders, and maybe you will be able to save the inanimate colonists trapped in the Citadel.
