Philips enters Robot Vacuum Cleaner category launching world-first PowerCyclone Aqua technology

Philips HomeRun Vacuum & Mop Robot series to launch in Australia this month

Leading home appliance brand, Philips, is revolutionising floor care with its debut into the Robot Vacuum Cleaner category in Australia this October. Leading the launch into this new category for Philips Australia will be the flagship Philips HomeRun 9000 Series Vacuum & Mop Robot, boasting world-first PowerCyclone Aqua technology that instantly removes dirty water, ensuring only fresh water is used for cleaning.

With the demand for robotics continuing to soar, the category is projected to increase by a further 11% by 20271 driven by increasingly busy lifestyles and the desire for convenient home solutions. Philips launch into the floor care category addresses this trend head-on, showcasing its dedication to innovation and meeting the evolving needs of modern households.

Alexander Gutwirth, General Manager and Director of Australia and New Zealand at Philips shares: “The demand for smart home appliances in Australia is projected to grow significantly over the coming years. Fuelled by increasing interest in smart technologies for energy efficiency, security, and AI-powered devices, the smart home market is expected to be worth more than $5 billion by 20272. At Philips, we see this as an opportunity to not only innovate the floor care category but bring a fresh approach to robotics technology.”

“We can’t wait to share our latest products with the world. Australia’s reputation as an early adopter of new technology makes it the ideal market for Philips to launch the HomeRun 9000 series, the most advanced robot vacuum cleaner in the world,” Gutwirth continues.

The flagship Philips HomeRun 9000 Series Vacuum & Mop Robot boasts an impressive 13 patents and a host of industry-first features. Its patented technology revolutionises mopping by instantly removing dirty water, ensuring that only fresh water is used for cleaning. The design traps dirty water in a built-in tank, guaranteeing consistently sparkling floors. Users can enjoy up to three weeks of maintenance-free cleaning using the All-in-One station which independently refills the clean water tank whilst emptying the dirty water tank for up to three weeks. The station also effortlessly cleans and hot dries the mop, ensuring a fresh start each time.

Vincent Wu, Global Robotics Business Development Leader at Philips says: “Our relentless pursuit of innovation led us to develop breakthrough technology that not only makes daily floor cleaning handsfree but surpasses what’s currently on the market. The Philips HomeRun 9000 Series Vacuum & Mop Robot’s ability to continuously mop with clean water sets a new benchmark for efficiency and hygiene.”

Launching alongside the 9000 series is the Philips HomeRun 2000 Series Vacuum & Mop Robot models. Both offer a powerful combination of vacuuming and mopping capabilities, streamlining cleaning routines. The high suction power ensures a deep clean, automatically increasing on carpets and rugs. The 2100 series further elevates convenience with its stylish Auto-Empty station, providing up to 70 days of hands-free operation.

Users can tailor their cleaning experience across the HomeRun portfolio using the HomeRun app to select cleaning options quickly and easily. The app communicates with the robot to control, report and update on its cleaning status, showing in real time where the robot has cleaned. Users can specify how they would like the robot to clean each room, let it know where it can’t go, or schedule an extra cleaning session when needed.

With its advanced technology and commitment to enhancing everyday living, Philips is poised to transform the way Australians approach floor care, with additional products coming to market in 2025.
