the most comprehensive AntiVirus programs to date.

Allowing for
centralised configuration, the program also offers real-time malware
protection for not just workstations but also network servers. It
also offers system administrations web-based reporting to ensure
that there systems are not only protected but also ensure that the
latest updates have been installed thanks to Symantec's LiveUpdate
functionality.
Rather than having
the clients accessing Liveupdate, they receive their updates from
server which minimizes the load on the system and internet traffic.
New Features
As a system
administrator for not just impulsegamer but also another major
non-profit organisation in Australia, the installation of Symantec
AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.1/10.2 was definitely one of the most
down-to-earth installations that I have encountered in a long time.
The program also
offers 32-bit and 64-bit protection which is great for the latest
operating systems coming out on the market at the moment.
After the
installation, I was greeted to a rather self-explanatory interface
that allowed me to set a variety of networking options ensuring that
all our workstations were protected from a variety of nefarious
internet threats.
The management
system of this software package can also divide the network into
various groups in order for each of these groups have their own
primary management server.
Although this
software package contains all the functionality of Symantec's highly
awarded AntiVirus program, the Corporate Edition can encompass a
variety of servers and workstations in a huge protective net.
By connecting our
laptop to the network, we purposely ran an infected setup.exe file
of Microsoft Excel and as soon as this program was run, an alert was
run on the workstation preventing this file from being installed.
This was also reflected on our main server that reported this breach
and kept an in-depth log of the potential threat. The program can
also e-mail these alerts and even broadcast them over the network.
According to IDC,
it was estimate in 2004 that over three quarters of corporate
machines have spyware installed on their systems and Symantec
AntiVirus Corporate Edition detected a variety of spyware code on
our network, eliminating all these instances in around 20 minutes.
Of course, these times depend on how large your network is.
In conclusion,
Symantec
AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.1/10.2 is recommended
for system administrators who wish to have automated defense and
responses against viruses, spyware and adware which can handle quite
large networks. Best of all, it even supports Microsoft Windows
Vista. Recommended!
