The latest version of one of the world's most definitive backup
software packages returns with Norton Save & Restore 2.0 that offers
the user a simplistic yet holistic approach at saving their valuable
information.
Based on Symantec's Norton Ghost
software, Norton Save & Restore 2.0 targets the novice to amateur
computer user that makes this process an almost flawless process.
Best of all, the program supports a variety of different media,
ensuring that the user has a plethora of backup options that suits
their computer usage.
The installation of Norton Save &
Restore 2.0 was a straight forward process and once the CD was
detected by our test machine, the program automatically installed.
It should be noted that any previous version of Norton Save &
Restore needs to be uninstalled but this again is an easy process.
After a brief installation process, the installation was complete
and once the system was returned to the user, we were were greeted
to an innovative user interface.
The interface features uses a traditional windows based view,
however it has been tweaked for a more slim lined and intuitive
interface that no users should have any issues with. Containing a
simplistic workplace environment with minimal menu usage, Norton
Save & Restore is definitely an easy to use system.
Although the program does contain more
advanced features, some of these need to be hunted through the
interface, although once you have learned where this is located, the
process is minimal.

Norton Save & Restore 2.0 will give all
home users and small office users the ability to backup a variety of
data with just a simple click of the mouse thanks to the informative
wizards that make this an extremely easy process. For example, one
click of the mouse, our hard drive was being automatically saved to
our second hard drive.
We also saved a variety of folders such as "My Documents" and "My
Photos" onto USB sticks and our trusty DVD burner. The program also
supports a variety of older backup options such as Iomega Zip and
Jazz drives.
A great aspect of Norton Save & Restore
2.0 is that if a doomsday scenario does occur, provided your hard
drive is still working, the program can even restore the system if
this has been corrupted.
The program supports incremental
backups which only backup the latest changes to your data which
means it will save time and user interaction. For instance, if you
backed up your "My Photos" folder from May 2008 and then added a
variety of new photos into this directory, Norton Save & Restore 2.0
will only add the latest photos to the backup.
Considering the volatile computer environment with a wide gamut of
nefarious viruses and worms, this is definitely a must have fail
safe system. As users have internet security suites on their
computer, a backup software package should also be used in
conjunction to ensure that all facets of your data are protected.
In conclusion, Norton Save & Restore 2.0 once again improve upon
their previous incarnation and address some of the issues from the
original program, making this one of the faster and perhaps most
easiest to use backup software packages. An intuitive and easy to
use interface, Norton Save & Restore 2.0 is great for all users.
