MAGIX Xtreme Print Center: Create and print out CD covers (including
countless templates)
The
installation of MAGIX Audio Cleaning Lab 15 Deluxe was a breeze and it
simply auto-installed on our test machine with no issues whatsoever. The
only issue is the way too long serial number that needs to be typed in
and it also requires the CD to use.
However, once installed, the user is then greeted to a relatively easy
to use interface that can be used by a variety of computer users. With
that said, the learning curve is quite high to master this program,
however for the basics, most users should be able to manage.
In
order to connect your LP or cassette player to the PC, there may be some
fiddling required, however most sound cards will have a sound-in option
and for a worst case situation, you can also use the microphone in.
Unfortunately this is the only way to convert analog sound to digital
media and there may be some tweaking required by the user.
To
convert the information, all you need to do is select “record” and then
push play on your cassette or start your LP record playing. MAGIX Audio
Cleaning Lab 15 Deluxe has the ability to detect where a track ends
which really makes things considerably easier for the end-user. The
program supports a variety of additional effects in order to improve the
audio quality and I must admit that our 70’s LP sounded considerably
better after we converted it to digital.
Although not that the same as a CD or other digital audio file, MAGIX
Audio Cleaning Lab 15 Deluxe did a remarkable job at removing the
background hiss and scratches from the music. For lovers of podcasts,
MAGIX Audio Cleaning Lab 15 Deluxe is ideal for editing sound files and
even decreasing the volume of background music to give your files a
professional sound that in the past has been quite difficult to achieve.
We tested a stock standard recording via our Creative MP3 player and
after an hour of fixing, we managed to remove the background noise and
improve the "mono" quality of the file.
In relation to MP3 files which are generally of a high quality in
today’s day and age, some users still have older MP3 files that may not
be of the same caliber. A nifty little feature of MAGIX Audio Cleaning
Lab 15 Deluxe is the ability to improve these files, whether MP3 or
another music files through a variety of filters that may increase the
volume or attempt to remove that “mono”, non-stereo sound. Even users of
camcorders will be pleased with this function that can increase the
audio quality of video recordings. We tested this feature and it does
take a little time to get the right settings, however there was a
noticeable difference.
At the
end of the day, this is quite a competent program that is easy to use,
however to master, it will require some patience and fiddling.
Definitely a software package to be considered.
