This is the add on that complimented the other add on called Guardians of the Light. For some reason I preferred this game to Guardians, and judging by the very small amount of new stuff that is included, really this and Guardians should have been on the one disc. I have however also taken into account that this is a bargain priced game over here in Australia, but even so we can’t blame distributor Auran, rather Strategy First for not looking after the rabid fans of Disciples II as well as they should.
As the title suggests in this one you get to play the bad guys in this one and that involves the undead and all sorts of nasties. All that has happened essentially in this version of events is that you can now see how it was for the other side when you were battling for the forces of light. A good concept but considering the slap dash way it is carried out, does not make for a solid add on package.
I am not sure that everyone who has played the series will really like what has happened to the franchise and it is sure to get up some people’s backs. Like I said, it’s a cheap enough game to buy however from a practical perspective, you would feel like you were getting a fully-fledged addon if the light and dark games were bundled. Still, if you have not played Disciples II before then you are getting a great value for money game. |
