Paying tribute to the in-person Nintendo World Championships held in 1990, 2015 and 2017, Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition is available now on Nintendo Switch. Tackle over 150 speed-running challenges from across 13 NES games – play solo, post your best time on the online leaderboards*, or invite friends and family for local** gameplay of up to eight players on a single console.

Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition features include:

See how quickly you can grab the first Super Mushroom in Super Mario Bros. or how fast you can gobble up an enemy in Kirby’s Adventure. Players who are stuck on one of the Legend Challenges can check out Classified Information for tips and tricks.
  • Two’s company, eight’s a Championship: Up to eight players can gather in the local multiplayer Party Mode to take on challenges individually or in themed packs.
  • Take on the world: With Nintendo Switch Online, players can compete against opponents from across the globe in the World Championships, recording their best time in the five weekly challenges to see if they can emerge as the fastest player of the week.
  • Survival of the fastest: Players can pit themselves against other players’ ghost data across three rounds in Survival Mode. Those who place in the top half qualify for the next round, and in the final round the fastest player claims the win.
  • A pixel-perfect profile: By earning Coins across every game mode, players can unlock unique icons to adorn their profile, don special Pins by completing various objectives, and more.
