Neil Fanning Interview @Supanova
Supanova is back and what better way to celebrate than with an interview Neil Fanning!
Welcome to Impulse Gamer… so Neil, you are SCOOBY DOO! What was it like playing this iconic canine?
It was an honour to voice the lead character in both movies. There’s only been 5 official Scooby Doo voice artists in history so definitely the highlight of my career.
Favourite Scooby Doo line?
Rikes Raggy Ra Ronster!!
Dogs play a special part of your life. Tell us a little about the East Maitland’s Miracle Assistance Dogs organisation?
I’ve been the Patron of MAD for many years trying to raise funds to train and supply service dogs to those in our community with physical or mental disabilities. This is truly life changing as the dogs are able to assist in incredible ways.
How can people help?
As MAD completely survives on donations please go to their social pages and site, any support would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Supanova 2022… what are you most looking forward to?
Putting smiles on the faces of all those that love Scooby Doo and seeing all the amazing costumes of the fans.
With cons, what’s been the strangest question ever asked of you?
Do you sing in the shower? Yes all the time! I love singing the crooner songs, anything by Sinatra or Michael Buble. If you say you can do something in entertainment you’d better be able to kill it, so I don’t call myself a singer but I can sing a bit.
You’re also a stunt man, what’s your most favourite stunt and why?
I’m a precision driver and drifter so anytime I have a car sideways is always a great day!
Most dangerous?
Every stunt has the potential to be very dangerous and it’s all about training and rehearsals to reduce the risk. We all take it seriously and trust each other explicitly. It’s a split decision between high falls, fire gags and car knock downs.
Lastly, what does the rest of 2022 hold for you and 2023?
I’m currently working on an 8 part series for Netflix in Brisbane until the end of the year. The film and tv industry is super busy and I have several projects that are going to be exciting in 2023.
