Motorola fuses art and technology, announcing final two edge devices

Mobile communications leader Motorola, continues to prove why it is positioned as the 3rd Largest Smartphone Company in Australia for 2Q24, with the launch of the motorola edge 50 and motorola edge 50 neo, rounding out its premium edge family for 2024 in exemplary fashion.

The final devices boast a perfectly balanced suite of premium features, including a camera system powered by Sony’s LYTIA™ sensor, moto ai experiences and a harmonious design with proven durability.

Harmonious design with proven durability

The new motorola edge 50 devices are as stunning to look at as they are durable. Both devices are protected to IP68 standards², they have been engineered to meet military standards for durability¹, with a MIL-STD-810H rating, and use in extreme environmental conditions¹, with the added feature of Corning® Gorilla® Glass.

The design can’t go unnoticed either, available in trending colours curated by PantoneTM, crafted with premium materials including vegan leather and vegan suede, featuring an exceptionally slender and lightweight body, and a perfectly blended camera housing.

The motorola edge 50 features a borderless display and will be available in three colours: Koala Grey, Jungle Green, and the PantoneTM Colour of the Year, Peach Fuzz.

The motorola edge 50 neo caters to those who want a smaller handset and display, without compromising on quality. It will be available in colours curated by Pantone; Poinciana, Lattè, and Grisaille.

Create content effortlessly with the new edge devices

Catering to users’ lifestyles, the motorola edge 50 and motorola edge 50 neo will feature camera systems powered by moto ai, allowing users to create and capture their content effortlessly in any setting or lighting. The devices main camera combines the superior light sensitivity of Sony’s LYTIA™ sensor with moto ai image processing, to aid in capturing scenes at night. This fusion delivers a leap in image quality without any additional effort from users. Plus, thanks to Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and advanced all-pixel focus technology, users will capture a crisp image every time.

For those exploring their creative potential, users can take advantage of the 10MP Telephoto lens, which offers 3X optical zoom for professional-looking portraits and a remarkable 30X superzoom to capture distant details. The 13MP Ultrawide lens also expands their horizons, perfect for breathtaking landscapes or group photos, and when up close, the integrated Macro Vision reveals the intricate beauty of everyday objects.

Working behind the camera sensors, moto ai image processing works with all lenses to analyze multiple frames of a photo, blending exposures to create a true-to-life image. Unlike other methods, it works directly on the uncompressed image to preserve hidden details, richer colours, and subtle textures. These devices also include moto ai enhancements for video recording. Adaptive Stabilization that automatically adjusts to the user’s movement, providing extreme stabilization when they need it.

Users can also opt for the Long Exposure feature to capture subjects on moving water or light trails with a single tap.

When streaming movies or playing games, users of the new motorola edge devices will experience over one billion colours, infinite contrast, HDR10+ brightness support and a stunning Super HD (1220P) display, that offer 13% more resolution then the previous generation of motorola edge family.

The motorola edge 50 is packed with a borderless endless edge 6.7″ pOLED display while the motorola edge 50 neo features a 6.4” pOLED display.

When it comes to battery life, users can go the day worry free, thanks to the 68W TurboPower™ that gives users power for the day in minutes of charging3. These devices also support 15W wireless charging4 for additional power on the go.

The motorola edge 50 is designed to revolutionise entertainment experiences, equipped with Snapdragon® 7 Gen 1 Mobile Platform Accelerated Edition. This Snapdragon mobile platform offers top-of-the-line AI features, high speed connectivity with outstanding 5G capabilities and Wi-Fi 6E support. motorola edge 50 users will also enter new gaming territories backed by the Qualcomm® Adreno™ GPU – improved 20% from the previous generation – all without ever compromising battery life. It also contains up to 256GB of storage5 and up to 12GB of RAM6 for seamless multitasking and efficient performance.

The motorola edge 50 neo is strategically empowered by the MediaTek 7300, thanks to its power efficiency, to support all day battery life³, without sacrificing on amazing moto ai features.
