MICF 2025: Killa From Manila
Melbourne-based comedian, Randy Adeva, is back this MICF 2025 with his infectious, warm and zany energy with a new hour, Killa From Manila. Playing multiple characters throughout the show, his most odd and weird character takes centre-stage for this show. Himself. Come on this comedy journey with this young man and ask yourself, “Is the show written? Or isn’t it?” (It is. But Randy likes to set a vibe where you may question that.)
Randy just wants to have a good time. And he wants you to, too. After a successful run at last year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival, with Hello Players!, Randy, as a part of Asian-Australian comedy duo, R&B, with Brendan Wan, returned again to the Melbourne Fringe with their hit show, Hello Players! Vol 2.
Riding solo this time, Randy Adeva’s credits include ABC’s “What Could Go Wrong?” and C31’s “The Leak”. A Filipino-Australian that grew up half in Manila and half in Melbourne, he brings his own unique upbeat and charming energy to the stage. He is unafraid to go to heartfelt and sincere emotional places with his comedy. He is a comedian first. An actor second. An actor third. And a comedian fourth.
“The last show I wrote had eight comedy rap songs in it. It felt more like I was doing a concert every night and while I loved the show, it’s not what I do comedy for. This show has just two comedy rap songs and leaves space for my stand-up, sketch and crowd interactions that I believe display the alchemy of comedy and what I enjoy most about it.”, says Mr. Adeva.
In this, his first self-produced show, getting advice and help from countless friends and comedy colleagues he has met through his 8 years in comedy, Randy is so proud of this show. It’s a culmination of all his hard work developing his comedy skills in stand-up, improv and sketch.
Also, as a fun party-trick, he’s 40! Have a chat with him. You’ll never believe it’s true!
