It's time to play Time Crisis 2 and Vampire Night but something is missing. The PlayStation 2 controller doesn't feel right...it's time for a gaming gun!

Futuretronics have finally released the new version of their extremely popular PlayStation game guns called the Light Gun.

Features of the Light Gun

  • Compatible with PSone and PS2

  • Namco G-con2 USB and G-con1 Compatible

  • Features Auto Fire and Auto Reload

  • Easy Menu Access with Directional Pad

  • Fast Reload button

After opening the Light Gun from Futuretronics, you are treated to a sleek stylised gun that wouldn't look out of a science fiction movie. The gun itself is extremely light and has a good feel to it, so your arms will not get tired point at your TV screen.

The installation of the Light Gun was extremely easy as everything can only plug in one way. Those that are unfamiliar with PlayStation guns may feel a little anxious when installing this gun to their PSone or PlayStation 2. The Light Gun comes with a simplistic instruction manual telling you how to install your gun to your console with minimal amount of effort.

The beauty of the Light Gun is that it is fully G-con1 and G-con2 compatible and includes a high speed USB plug  to connect to your PlayStation 2 console. Thus the gun handles exactly the same as an official Sony PlayStation 2 gun controller. The unit itself has three different modes that include normal, G-con1 and G-con2. These modes are great for games that do not support the G-con series or for PSone owners. The gun contains the following buttons that are vital for an excellent gaming experience

  • Reload Button

  • Button-A
  • Button-B
  • Start Button
  • Select Button
  • Trigger Button
  • Normal/Auto fire button &
  • Normal/G-con1/G-con2 button

The Light Gun was tested thoroughly on Time Crisis 2 and Vampire Night and performed extraordinary well. Time Crisis 2 was a blast (no pun intended) and the gun never got too heavy while playing the game. The buttons are all located in accessible locations, so you will not be fiddling to find the correct button. As with most gun games on the PlayStation 2, all you need is the trigger and reload buttons to play the games effectively.

The only drawback of the Light Gun is the extremely short cord on the unit itself. If you are playing on a computer, you sit relatively close to the monitor but on a PlayStation 2, I generally like to lounge back on the couch. Unfortunately if you want a longer cable for the Light Gun, you will have to purchase an additional extension cord and a USB cord. Apart from that, an awesome gaming device from Futuretronics, highly recommended!
