| Fortunately for this review I was able to get a "kids" perspective on the game as my 5 year old nephew volunteered to test the title out with me. As with all educational children games, kids must enter their names at the start of the game to customise their learning experience. Jay Jay the Jet Plane is a fully interactive learning experience that teaches children a variety of valuable learning skills that will greatly assist them in their schooling. The game also supports a changeable difficulty level from 1 to 3, depending on your child's age. I must admit, before the starting the game, we were treated to some spectacular CGI cinematics (almost like watching a cartoon) that is extremely rare in children titles. The introduction movie helped explain the story behind Jay Jay and also help children get really involved in the story. The main premise behind the story is to help Jay Jay and his friends rescue a legendary tree called the Sparkleberry Tree that is in grave danger. In order to help Jay Jay and his friends rescue the Sparkleberry Tree, children must embark on a variety of learning adventures, for example, the game will show a picture of a Zebra and children must successfully spell Zebra on the screen in order to proceed. Fortunately, if children get stuck, Jay Jay and his friends will come to the rescue with hints and advice. There are dozens of different educational games that children can play that such as singing, writing and computer skills to name a few. Graphically, Jay Jay the Jet Plane is probably one of the most impressive children titles out there. The game utilizes QuickTime and Macromedia for some great special effects that include a range of wondrous colours. |
