Baby Gordi's First Adventure - reviewed by Tory Favro

Review Score: 7/10
Distributor: GameNation

A game aimed for younger players, Baby Gordi's First Adventure is guaranteed to keep your youngster occupied for hours on end with amusing and informative games and activities.

This title is suitable for ages 2-5, and unlike other titles where it is a case of hit and miss, Baby Gordi has difficulty settings that are fully appropriate for the age of your child.

Fully interactive, Baby Gordi takes us to Toyland for learning and fun. With the multiple difficulty settings you can cover many aspects of learning and you can reuse the software as your child grows older.

A great example of this title was with a game where vehicles were identified. On the lowest setting, suitable for my daughter, Gordi simply displays the vehicle and clearly identifies it, whereas for a friends nephew a higher level of difficulty was set and Gordi gave you a choice of vehicles to choose from based on a clue given (see screenshot 2).

Gordi is clearly spoken through the title and easy to understand, even for younger listeners. The graphics are clear, crisp and colorful and done in a simplistic cartoon style.

There is also a commendable parent section of the software where you can set the level of interaction that your child has with the program and what progress your child is making.

This game is aimed at improving your child's following skills:

  • Improves concentration
  • Computer usage
  • Auditory memory
  • Visual perception
  • Recognition of basic shapes
  • Patters and colours

Baby Gordi's First Adventure also contains tons of special features that includes a unique toddler friendly operation, nursery songs, superb graphics and animation and special baby proof activities.

In summary, I found Baby Gordi's First  Adventure to be an educational and entertaining piece of software that is adaptable and suitable for the ages specified. It's bright and cheerful and a useful learning tool for parents with young children.
