Anthony LaPaglia (Looking for Alibrandi, Lantana) is Simon O’Reilly, ruthless CEO for Centabank who hires Jim Doyle (David Wenham, lately of Lord of the Rings) a brilliant mathematician to complete a computer program designed to predict the stock market.

This is the basis for a thriller focussing on greed, corruption and the worst of corporate nastiness.  Various sub plots draw us into the murky world of corporate banking and big business, where Jim is forced to compromise all to prove his loyalty for the chance to finish his program, his last 10 years work.  We also see the “aussie battlers” in direct opposition to The Bank, directing our emotions to hope  that Jim will not be able to complete his work, and The Bank, will lose.

Both stars play their parts to perfection, making this film engrossing and a pleasure to watch, also look for Sibylla Budd (Secret Life of Us) as the mysterious Michelle..whose side is she really on?

This movie showcases the quality of Australian movie making and acting and thoroughly earned the 9 AFI award nominations it received, including Best Film, Best Director (Robert Connolly), Best Actor and winner of Best Original Screenplay.
