DVD Reviews: The Nugget

This little ripper of a movie is guaranteed to put a smile on the face of anyone who watches it. It's the tale of three mates who think the world of each other and are inseparable. And who also find the largest gold nugget ever, anywhere in the world.

Starring Eric Bana, Stephen Curry and Dave O'Neil. The Nugget is a great Aussie comedy that everyone should be able to identify with. It's topic is one that we have all imagined with a group of friends, "what if we all got rich together". However this film then shows what happens when people get greedy as well.

The movie has so many wonderful moments, and so many "Australian" comedic moments that you'll feel that only an Australian would or could understand. It's a movie for everyone but may appeal to battlers more than anyone else as you strongly feel that these guys are one of us made good.

 A hell of a lot of jokes in the movie are of the laugh out loud variety, and you'll enjoy the movie from start to finish and wonder where the time went when the credits roll. The nice thing about the DVD edition of this movie is that you will also get to see the alternative ending to the movie. Whilst this is nice as an extra, I think they chose the best one to keep in the film proper.

This movie looks great and whilst doing it proper justice in 5.1 Dolby Digital, it's the down to earth quality of the storyline and the great acting of the stars that make this feature a must own at home release. The extras are wonderful filler and fun to watch however the movie itself is the real meat in the pie.

A real crackerjack movie! Recommended.
