Starring Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy, Just Married is a fun forgettable
romantic comedy that didn't have the greatest life at the cinema. The basic
story is about a young couple who get married after an amazing short amount of
time, fight furiously, separate and then realise they are meant for each
other.
Many of the scene in this film did cause me to laugh out loud which is truly a
credit. Kutcher reminds me of Adam Sandler in the way that he shows explosive
anger, which in itself causes me to laugh. The "fight" scene at the very start
of the
movie is truly in my opinion the highlight of the entire feature and worth
hiring the film to see that alone.
Just Married takes us from the USA to Europe s the young couple go on their
honeymoon and learn that they don't really know much about each other after
all and after a serious of hilarious fights (for the audience), they go their
separate ways, much to the relief of the bride's parents.
Kutcher and Murphy do show a chemistry on the camera which makes sense due to
the fact that they were actually a couple at the time the film was made. Even
though the story in itself is pretty weak and done to death, the fun that the
actors have doing the film certainly makes the difference to it that will keep
you viewing even after the story shows itself to be the overdone story that it
is.
A movie this new from the cinema should look good on the transfer and this one
certainly does. Presented in widescreen, it looks good and there is very
little in the way of artefacts or other distortions visible on the screen at
any time. Audio is in Dolby 5.1 and for the most part utilises the front
channels with the rear and sub used very sparingly.
The standout part in the extras is the audio commentary handled with the two
leads and the director which is great as we get to see the movie from both a
technical perspective along with the fun stuff from the two actors.
All things said and done, this is a fun film to watch however with a story
like this you might want to rent this one before buying. If you just want a
light hearted laugh, this is the one for you.
