The front of the DVD
claims: Fast Cars, Fast Chicks, Fast Food and this movie has it in spades. Of
course if you are easily offended, then this movie has enough vulgarities and
faux pas in it to have you scrambling for something a little (no, a lot) more
politically correct.
If you are a member of a
minority group there is a good chance that this flick is going to offend. If
you are a member of a majority group then it’s still going to offend. I loved
it!
For those not in the know,
Fat Pizza is a show that airs on SBS each week for the last two seasons. It’s
rambunctious, rude and the focal point of the movie surprisingly enough
revolves around a pizza shop called Fat Pizza, their line being, “We’re Big
and We’re Cheesy!” Run by the slave driver Bobo, pizza boys Pauly, rapper Sleek
the elite and
newcomer to the Fat Pizza crew Davo try to make the rounds, get the chicks and
try to avoid the wrath of Bobo who is anxiously waiting for the arrival of his
mail order bride from Vietnam.
It’s funny but I would
almost say that you would have to be a fan of the series before really getting
everything that they want you to out of this flick. The humour is definitely
that of the toilet variety and in fact one of the jokes at the start of the
movie actually involves a toilet and some disabled people.
The basic thing to realise
about this film is that there is really almost little to no storyline, it’s
just a continuous laugh fest all the way through with some of the crudest
jokes I’ve ever seen in a movie. It's just another day in the lives of
these pizza delivery guys.
The film looks great on
DVD and has been kept in it’s 16:9 enhanced ratio. Audio is good and makes
sure that all channels get a bit of a hiding. Your subwoofer will almost
explode in some places, sick mate, sick mate, subwoofer! If you haven't seen
the movie that line won't mean anything to you yet, but it will, oh yes it
will!
Extras are plentiful and will give you even
more of the goodness that was in the movie. From a movie buff's perspective,
the extras won't tell you much more about the feature, they are placed there
essentially to increase upon the experience had watching the film, or fillum
or Pauly likes to say.
Recommended for those not easily offended :)
