Ok I'll get
this straight out, this DVD RULES! Imagine all the brilliant skate action that
you've come to expect from the crew at 411VM and then throw Bam Margera into
the mix to get something truly memorable. Bam is the star and creator of CKY
and also starred in the Jackass TV Series and movie. Now working for MTV
making the series Viva La Bam, Margera is hilarious and brings all that
attitude to this release.
This issue is
great for more than reason however as it gives you the chance to check out the
skills of some newcomers, notably Terell Robinson who has also been featured
in a number of skate mags recently.
Those of you
who watched the Osborne's would also be familiar with Jason Dill, the dude
with the skanky hair who freeloaded on Jack Osborne during the filming. We get
to see a day in the life of this guy who drinks coffee and smokes like a
chimney. The hilarious thing about this spot is that it doesn't look as though
Dill can skate any better than your local kid at the park, he's just managed
to get himself at the right place and the right time to get exposure. What's
even funnier is that Bam and Raab Himself fully diss the dude before his spot
starts.
One of the
highlights for me would be the spot check on FDR Park and all the guys totally
killing that spot. You'll get to see Bam doing his thing at the park along
with Mike Vallely and a whole host of guys tearing it apart. Anyone who's into
skating would know about FDR Park or seen it on a video.
Second disc
is a bonus disc all about Bam and all things Bam related. You've got to laugh
at the Slapless in Seattle part where kids are begging Bam to slap them and
he's happy to oblige them. There's some footage of CKY the band going beserk
and also all of the guys from CKY are there. Seriously this disc is so funny
that they could have just released it on it's own and I still would have
bought it.
I think that
this disc will appeal to anyone who's into Jackass etc, as Bam and the CKY
crew are all over the place on this disc and the bonus disc that comes with
this special issue. Take the skating out of the equation and you still get a
really entertaining disc to watch that will have you laughing your arse off!
I totally
recommend this disc as it's sensational and I'm prepared to slap a 10 on it
for sheer entertainment value alone. It's got all the great skate action that
you've come to know and love from 411VM with the antics and general stupidity
from Bam! It doesn't get better than this.
