Hisense puts fans at centre of the action with more streaming options

Leading consumer electronics brand and an Official Partner of the National Rugby League (NRL), Hisense Australia today announces an exclusive NRL TV app to be available from June 2021 on its television range* as part of its ongoing commitment to deliver Australians the best sporting and entertainment experiences from the comfort of home.

Joining Hisense’s already impressive line-up of leading, on-demand sports streaming services including Kayo, Stan Sport and NBA League Pass, from June 2021 the NRL TV App will be available via Hisense’s range of 2020 and 2021 TVs which use the company’s proprietary Operating System (OS), VIDAA.

Being the first time the NRL TV App has been adapted for use on a television, Hisense customers that are fans of the code will be able to immerse themselves in classic match replays and current season highlights, a number of NRL live-stream programs including Inside the NRLGame Plan and NRL Teams via the App, as well as access to NRL State of Origin archives and documentaries.

Hisense Australia’s research and development team worked closely with NRL’s app developers to make the integration a reality as part the company’s major three-year sponsorship of the NRL, which includes being an Official Partner of the NRL Telstra Premiership and naming rights sponsor of Thursday Night Football.

Andre Iannuzzi, Head of Marketing at Hisense Australia, said: “At Hisense we are driven to provide Australians the best in home entertainment, which means we are constantly looking at how we can expand our content offering – particularly when it comes to sports. Our insights tell us that our customers highly value access to sports content from the comfort of their own home and this is something we’ve seen increase exponentially over the last 12 months.

“The integration of the NRL TV App across our product range is an exciting development for our sports-loving customer base and significantly enhances our on-demand sport offering by ensuring there is something for everyone – from basketball lovers and passionate NRL supporters, to the sporting fanatic all-rounder with Kayo.”

Hisense announced its content partnership with Kayo, Australia’s leading sports streaming platform, earlier this year. Its roll-out is now complete with the app accessible via Hisense TVs equipped with VIDAA U3 and VIDAA U4 operating systems. It will also be available on Hisense’s 2021 TVs, powered by the new VIDAA U5, which will be available for sale in coming months.

In addition, basketball fans will also be excited to learn that VIDAA has embarked on a global, multi-year partnership with the NBA, giving owners of Hisense TVs access to hundreds of live and on-demand NBA games in high-definition.

“By partnering with the NRL, NBA and platforms like Kayo and investing in innovative television technology, from ULED 8K with AI-powered upscaling to Mini LED, we are able to give our customers the best, at-home viewing experience possible,” added Mr Iannuzzi.

“When fans aren’t able to make the game in-person, we’re pleased to provide them with a front row seat from their own living room.”

The NRL TV App, Kayo and NBA League Pass are available now on a broad range of Hisense TVs. A full list of compatible models is outlined below.
