TARGUS MULTIMEDIA NOTEBOOK SPEAKERS
Whether you spend $1,000 or $5,000 on a
laptop computer, the sound quality of the system is unfortunately
lacking when compared to speakers that are available for your desktop
computer. With that said, the reasoning behind the "poor" quality
speakers on laptops is the portability and size of the computer which
unfortunately impact on the overall sound quality. If only they could
make iPod headphones for laptops but make them bigger...
... As portability is major concern for
laptop users, buying desktop speakers for your laptop is great (provided
it's always in the same spot) but if they cannot fit your laptop bag,
then you're probably not going to cart them around. Fortunately for
laptop users, Targus have come to rescue with their Multimedia Notebook
Speakers (AWM04AP) that really enhance your audio experience.
I must admit that I was thoroughly excited
when this product came for reviewing because nothing is worse than tinny
sounding speakers that are plagued by most commercial laptops. The
installation of the speakers was a breeze and it simply plugged into a
spare USB port with the audio cable plugging directly into the audio out
port.
The design of the speakers is great and
Targus have upped the ante by allowing them to be folded when they are
ready to be packed away. The sound quality of the speakers is phenomenal
and whether you're watching movies, playing games or listening to MP3s,
they truly enhance your laptop experience.
The reason why these speakers sound so
decent is that they are USB powered that assists in amplifying the sound
that is not only clear but also distortion free. The speakers also
support a frequency of 150Hz to 18Khz for exceptional sounding stereo
sound.
In conclusion, I applaud Targus for their
innovative design that not only allows me to fit these speakers in my
laptop bag but also gives me loud and crystal clear audio no matter
where I am. With one year warranty and a size of 21.9 x 2.6 x 6.6 cm,
the Targus Multimedia Speakers is probably the only other accessory you
would need for your laptop... besides a bag! Highly Recommended
