Belkin ProHD 3000
HDMI High Speed with Ethernet
Cabling is probably the most underrated and
understood element in your home theatre setup. You may have spent $3000
on the latest LED TV but then you do something unintentionally
thoughtless and purchase a $20 HDMI cable for your Blu-ray player to your
FULL HD TV.
It's basically between this connection, the cabling where
everything falls apart and your $3000 investment may not be looking as
good as it did at your retailer. I was once oblivious to the world of
cabling but having worked briefly in retail before, there was a
noticeable difference with high-end cabling. And with that said, it all comes down to the
quality of the cable and like TV's and most things in life, you
generally get what you pay for.

While reviewing the
Belkin ProHD 3000, we tested three cables that included a $10 HDMI cable from eBay,
a $60 Premium HDMI cable from Harvey Norman and finally the Belkin ProHD
3000. Our test machine included the PlayStation 3
in order to test video games, movies and the quality of onscreen text.
Although the $10 cable from eBay done what it suppose to do, things began
to change with the $60 cable and finally the Belkin ProHD 3000.
While using the
Belkin ProHD 3000, there was a
significant improvement in terms of clarity, colours and sharpness. This
was made more evident while gaming (Enslaved Odyssey to the West, Red
Dead Redemption Nightmare Pack and Gran Turismo Prologue which
highlighted the image quality of these games. There was some improvement
while watching movies but for additional quality, 3D is where the cable
shone and it really brought the images to life.
When it comes to design, the cable is quite sturdy and professionally built, ensuring that it would be very unlikely for it to be damaged.
The
HDMI connectors are also quite solid, so there is no danger of it from
falling out of your devices which also feature 24k gold plated
connectors. The quality of the build is definitely
first class.

The reason why Belkin
ProHD 3000 excelled over
the other cables was the quality components that made up the cabling. By
using solid copper conductors, 24k gold connectors and five-layer
shielding, this ensured that the best possible signal went from the
PlayStation 3 to our TV.
It should also noted
that this cable can be used with a
variety of devices that include all HDTV's with HDMI inputs, gaming
consoles (e.g. PlayStation 3 and XBox 360), TiVo, Blu-ray players and
other entertainment devices. The only drawback for this product is the
price, however it is on par with similar companies who produce high
quality high definition cabling.
If you have a FULL HD TV and some high quality peripherals for it, than
I would strongly suggest you investigate quality cabling like the
Belkin ProHD 3000. Consider it the cherry on top
for not only your entertainment enjoyment but your visually and auditory
senses. A+ |
