Summary: The Glorious O 2 Wireless Ultralight Ambidextrous Gaming Mouse provides an exceptional smooth and performance driven experience with a fantastic style!

4.5

Smooth gamer

Glorious are increasing their presence in Australia and Impulse Gamer was given the opportunity to check out their wireless gaming mouse, the Glorious O 2 Wireless Ultralight Ambidextrous Gaming Mouse that is a lightweight (68g) wired and (obviously) wireless device to give you that edge in your virtual worlds. Not only does it look the part with its streamlined design, perforated holes and angles, it is built with the BAMF 2.0 optical sensor that offers a maximum DPI (sensitivity) of 26k.

Further, it’s been ranked at 650 IPS (aka tracking movement speed), 50G acceleration with a polling rate of 1000Hz plus it supports 6-programmable buttons and 1 customisable RGB zone. It terms connectivity, the wired connection is via the included USB-C cable that doubles as a charging cable or wireless with the included 2.4Ghz dongle or Bluetooth. It also has slight finger grooves on the buttons with Glorious Switches rated at 80 million clicks without double clicking errors.

Unboxing Photos

The product is well packaged from Glorious and comes with everything you need that includes the mouse, USB-C cable and a wireless dongle. Although the Glorious O 2 Wireless Ultralight Ambidextrous Gaming Mouse works straight out of the box, if you want to maximize the features, you do need to install the Glorious app.

Further, the mouse feels good in your hand and I love the perforated holes on the design which actually feels quite comfortable. Button placement is good and it’s a mouse that can be used by both right and left handers. However the two additional programmable buttons on the side of the mouse are more suited to right-handers as they are right next to your thumbs.

Day to day use, the O 2 works on a variety of surfaces well, however a gaming mat is our preferred option and yes, Glorious has these on offer with the mouse coming with their Large Pro Gaming Matt. It also slides well courtesy of its smooth “feet” underneath the product.

Games such as Call of Duty Modern Warfare III, Fortnite 2, World of Warcraft, Smite and Diablo all worked a treat with this Glorious product and whether it was a first person shooter or MOBA, I could not fault the accuracy of this mouse. Did it make me play better? I like to think so but seriously, all movements, activities and shots (in-game) were registered immediately over the wireless dongle.

Software such as Adobe Photoshop and general Windows usage plus its apps worked extremely well on the Glorious O 2 Wireless Ultralight Ambidextrous Gaming Mouse that provided a smooth and accurate experience, including surfing the net. Additionally the wheel and buttons were very responsive which is needed for gaming. Lastly, it is a very lightweight mouse that glided well over my desk.

In terms of battery life, Glorious states up to 110 hours (4 hours a day for 27  days) via 2.4Hz or up to 210 hours (4 hours a day for 52 days) in Bluetooth that for most is quite ample. There are some caveats, if you have the RGB lighting always on, this will drain the battery faster – it does look nice and it’s definitely a feature that LAN gamers or streamers will enjoy to showcase their system.

Final Thoughts?

In Australia, the Glorious O 2 Wireless Ultralight Ambidextrous Gaming Mouse retails for $129AUD (August 2024) and provides a very responsive peripheral to meet all your gaming and work needs. With decent battery life, a comprehensive app plus an overall design that screams gamer thanks to its aesthetics that as a result, stands out from its competitors.
