Flaus Woven Mint Heads Review

Ask and ye shall receive!

A few weeks back I had the wonderful pleasure of trying out Flaus’ Electric Starter Kit, and was thrilled by this clever and surprisingly well made, affordable alternative to traditional flossing. In said review – and my literal lone criticisms – I wished for a variety of floss heads likewise ease of use in recycling used ones. Turns out the latter was taken care of personally by Flaus being a review (thanks in advance, guys!). The former…my wish was granted.

Insert Flaus’ new woven, mint flavored floss heads. Per included pics, they are of the same footprint of the original floss heads albeit thinner in string density. For comparison, the floss head on the left is the new woven mint flavored one, on the right what comes with the starter kit and normal refill backs. Pictures show close-ups of the top/bottom of the heads.

Woven mint Flaus heads come in the same 90 count pack as the originals, with slightly less packing (no cardboard box for these bad boys).

These woven floss heads, from my personal experience, better resemble premium traditional floss. They are also a bit stiffer than the originals, so running the woven mint heads on a lower vibration setting until acclimated is probably for the best. Head weight is exactly the same, so expect zero change in floss habits and feel garnered from using Flaus original floss heads.

The mint flavor is most certainly welcome, and subtle in action. No chemical taste or aftertaste, just enough to be noticeable and pleasant.

I requested floss variety as everyone’s gums and tooth sensitivity is different, and diversity in selection is a good thing, right! Personally: I digged the softer feel of the originals, but also the more traditional texture of the woven Flaus head. Thus, I would recommend Flaus consider a third grade in the middle, and recommend refills based on individual preferences. There’s a market out there for gum sensitive folks waiting to be tapped!

Not sure any other flavor is needed, although I wouldn’t say no peppermint or even something fun like bubble gum.

Overall Thoughts

Let no one declare Flaus doesn’t listen to suggestions! The new Flaus woven mint flavored floss heads are a nice changeup from the originals. Let’s hope there’s more variety down the line!
