Final Fantasy XIV x Gong Cha Collaboration!

Lovers of Bubble Tea, here’s one for you. For a couple of weeks now, Final Fantasy XIV and Gong Cha bubble tea have been working in collaboration as part of a special event. To celebrate the recent release of Dawntrail, they have released three Final Fantasy XIV themed drinks!

Starting from July 18th, For a limited time you can get your hands on one or more of these special Final Fantasy XIV themed drinks! The Fat Cat brown sugar milk tea, Fat Chocobo mango frozen tea and lastly the Cactuar matcha milk tea! But that’s not all, buy all three (Or any 3 full priced Gong Cha drinks) in store or via the Gong Cha app and you’ll score yourself a free item code for a unique King Porxie Mount for use within the game! And for our Kiwi friends, you can score one, (or all if you buy multiple sets of three) of specially made unique key chains in the same design as the specially themed FFXIV Cups!

With thanks to Double Jump Media and in collaboration with Uber eats, I was able to get my hands on the three drinks. Personally, I found myself falling in love with the chocobo mango frozen tea, the cactuar matcha milk tea was a surprising second favourite with the fat cat brown sugar milk tea closing out the trio. But none were bad by any means.

Please note that if you are looking to get your hands on the mount or the keychains (Outside Aus ONLY), delivery options are not eligible for the rewards, they’re only available in store or via the Gong Cha Australia app.

I’m not normally a fan of Bubble Tea, but these drinks were actually so good that I had to go back a second time! Of course, you know I had to get another mount! I had hoped that my local was restocked with codes and cups and I got really lucky, most places in vic were only able to restock the codes but I was able to get my hands on one of the themed cups! The Fat Chocobo cup!

With reward in hand I cashed that code in, if you’re not new to Final Fantasy XIV, you may recognise Porxies. There’s even another Porxie mount in the game, but who wouldn’t want this little cutie, he’s even wearing a little crown! As befits a true King Porxie! Mount and in-game picture featuring my character below. Of course I had to take a photo in the Il Mheg region, this is the Porxie’s home after all! And with the graphics update, the fields of flowers have never looked better!

This collaboration is running from July 18th, all the way to August 22nd! So if you haven’t gotten a mount yet, don’t fret, you still have a couple weeks to score your very own King Porxie! Thanks again to everyone involved, collaboration events like these are really cool because they get the entire community involved. My only wish is that there weren’t region specific rewards in future. I’ll definitely be making a few more trips myself!
