Turn Me On, Goddammit!

15-year-old Norwegian schoolgirl Alma is consumed by her rampant libido, indulging in phone sex, dreaming of trysts with her friend Artur and fantasising about almost every male she lays her eyes on. 

Making the mistake of confiding in her friends following an embarrassing encounter at a party she becomes ostracised at school, and with no one to turn to Alma is forced to deal with her hormone-charged sexual awakening as best she’s able. 

A charming and forthright coming of age tale, Turn Me On takes a no hold barred look at burgeoning female sexuality in a way that is neither crass nor exploitative. 

Lovely newcomer Helene Bergsholm imbues her role with no small measure of humour and plenty of pathos, and though the film breezes by at a mere 76 minutes the viewer is nonetheless left with a sense of having been on a journey - and a soulful, oddly beguiling journey at that.
