Top Gear the Great Adventures
The India Special & Supercars Across Italy
PART 2
After
watching Top Gear the Great Adventures "India Special" I was expecting
more of the same - crazy great big belly laugh entertainment. But
“Supercars Across Italy” is different. It’s set up differently - with
more in the Studio Scenes and live audience. It’s more of a High Speed
nerve racking adrenaline heart racing type of movie!

Mission:
- To settle their differences about Cars with a Road trip to Italy. The
producers of the TV series decide to send them on a road trip to test
three different cars!
Three
cars tested with High Speeds on the Italian Roads and Race Tracks. Where
incredible speeds are reached, dangerous bends are taken and even Famous
Racing Car Drivers have died.
Jeremy is
driving in a Lamborghini Aventador, Richard is in a Noble M600 and James
dives the MP4-12c.
The
location of the first track is Nardo where speeds of over 220 m/h are
reached by the Noble. Nardo Race Track is so vast that you are able to
see it from Outer Space! They were even warned by Max Venturi not to
push the speeds too much because the track is bumpy and the wind will
carry them from lane to lane.
Yet all
three men push their cars to the limit, and then some more.
After the
Race Track - where they reached stupid speeds to find the car that can
travel the fastest - they head across north to Rome.
Along the
way Richard has car issues with the Noble so he gets left behind.
With
Jeremy and James laughing evil devils laugh as they are driving off
without their friend. Richard is left waiting on the side of the road,
with one tow truck driver arriving...talking on his mobile phone, and
then driving off into the Sunset. Once the Noble is picked up and taken
to a Mechanics it’s clear that the car had Gear box/clutch issues and
was not going anywhere.
The final
test is to see whose car is fastest/better at the Imola Race Track.
Here is where they are damn crazy. They even realise how many lives that
Imola has claimed, yet still push beyond what I would consider safe.
Even
after all three challenges, with the crazy speeds, all three men could
not agree on which Car was the fastest, economical, stylish, practical
and all round “Best Car”.
Top Gear
Italian Style "Supercars across Italy" was not as funny as The Indie
Special, and I was confused by the coming and going of switching back
from the live audience to the scenes of their adventure.
Have
You Seen Top Gear Italian Style?
I think
that being a Racing Car theme that boys would love the movie - I know
that our boys did! But I just couldn't get into it as all I could think
about was "ARE they nuts?" with the speeds they were doing as they drove
through the streets of Italy and on the Race Track!
The DVD
was based on a TV series so maybe if one was to watch more from Top Gear
the Great Adventures then it would make sense!
