Top Gear Series 13
Who would
have thought that a TV show about cars would be so popular? Thanks of
course goes to Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May and The Stig
who have turned this lifestyle TV series into a world wide phenomenon
and focuses on cars.
But it’s never really been about the cars and more so for the whacky
banter between these individuals, the road tests and our favourite, the
crazy challenges that they come up with each season. This DVD collection
features all episodes from Series 13 that includes the Top Gear Race to
the North from London to Edinburgh as the boys attempt to beat each
other to the destination via train, a Jaguar XK120 and a Vincent Black
Shadow motorbike.
The series also features a number of guests, mainly
from Britain such as glamour model Madison Welsh or actor/comedian
Stephen Fry and even international guests like Michael Schumacher who
hilariously unveils to the world that he is “The Stig”. Series 13
features some lush cars that are tested such as the new Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 SV or the sexy Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG.
Another
entertaining challenge is that the trio attempt to buy cars for 17-year
olds with only a budget of £2500 and then they take these cars through the testing
hoops which had us in hysterics such as installing kits to attract the
eyes of girls. The beauty of Top Gear is that not all cars are
prototypes or race cars and the last episode features a race again the
Ford Focus RS and the Renault Mégane R26.R, two relatively normal cars.
But what makes this so special is that the commentators are having the
time of their life which is quite infectious to the viewer.
Video/Audio
Once again
the British prove why they are the best in producing high quality TV
series as this collection supports 16:9 widescreen with Dolby Digital
2.0. Extremely sharp images, great colours and exceptionally clear audio
makes this a worthy buy for your Top Gear collections.
If you’re a fan
of Top Gear, this is a must have series and even if you’ve only seen
this series a few times on TV but enjoyed, picking it up with Series 13
will no way disadvantage you. Recommended! |
