The Da Vinci Cup
Inspired by both the Da Vinci Code (Written by Dan Brown) and the
2006 World Cup, comedian Paul Fenech (Housos, Swift & Shift
Couriers and Fat Pizza) takes on his persona of Pauly
Falzoni as he travels around the world to uncover the hidden secrets
and more importantly, the conspiracy of the World Cup that begins
in an ancient chapel in the south of France.
According to Pauly, these secrets are hidden in items such as
Leonardo da Vinci's paintings of Mona Lisa and The Last
Supper plus other things from around the globe. Of course this
conspiracy just doesn't end there as Pauly uncovers an even deeper
secret that leads back to the United States and people of power such as
George Bush and Bill Gates. As shocking as all this
sounds, The Da Vinci Cup is more a comedic holiday for Paul
Fenech as he traverses the globe to places such as France, South
America, Malta and back to Sydney.
Best
of all, this 2006 release has all the Fenech humour and more
importantly, the classic Fat Pizza camera work to make this a thoroughly
enjoyable DVD from start to finish. Add in action scenes, fight scenes
and a mysterious organisation hunting Pauly down due to these secrets
and if you're fan of Fenech, you'll be laughing till your sides hurt.
Just like Fenech's other endeavours such as Housos or Swift & Shift
Couriers, there's also plenty of attractive women thrown in for good
measures.
For
those who have never had the pleasure of watching or enjoying Fenech's
unique Australian humour, there is some politically incorrectness
involved in this DVD that makes it all the more enjoyable. I'm still
laughing at how the Da Vinci Cup conspiracy was found, due to a priest
trying to hide his "porno" collection. After highs and lows for
Pauly from his search for the Da Vinci Cup, he manages to find the
circle cave but something mysterious happens... so shocking that you
need to watch the end of this DVD!
Classic Pauly Fenech! This is a must watch DVD if you're a fan of this
man! Add in director's commentary plus deleted/extended scenes and
there's enough little extras to get your Pauly fix until the next season
of Housos!
