Loved Fat Pizza? Check! Think Paul Fenech is a comedic genius?
Check! Think politically correctness has gone too far? Check! If you
answered yes to all three to these questions than the SBS series
Swift & Shift Couriers is right up your alley.
From the wonderfully
deluded and twisted mind of Paul Fenech (Pauly from Fat Pizza) comes
his next comedy series that is set in one of Australia's worst and
politically incorrect companies, Swift and Shift Couriers.
Set in the socio-economically
challenged suburb of Hashfield which also happens to be one of the worst branches of the
Swift & Shift Couriers and its time for the regional manager Amanda
(Amada Keller) to straighten things up. Unfortunately for Keith (Iam
Turpie), the manager of this local branch, his worst nightmares have
come to life with Amanda giving Keith six months to turn this
business around.
Plagued with almost every politically incorrect
character ever conceived, Keith has an uphill battle as his staff
are lazy, mentally challenged and just don't give a rats to the
company itself.
Paul Fenech stars as "Mario" who was given that name
by Kiwi Kev (Kev Taumata) who saw Mario being chased by his cousin
who looked like Donkey Kong, however he was named "Luigi".
You immediately know from the first episode that you are in for a
treat as the series is oozing with Australian clichés and
stereotypes.
The
episodes are quite varied, entertaining and will make you blush at
how politically incorrect things can be from the mentally challenged
son of a staff member from head office or the Asian courier who
cannot speak English, it's crass, it's bad, it's funny and best of
all, it's one of the best bloody entertainment experiences of the
year.
Paul Fenech deserves an Logie!
