Strike
Witches, Season 1 Collection, can only be described in one way, ecchi.
This title has received an MA 15+ rating purely for Animated Nudity, but
I’ll get to that later. The storyline: An alien race has come to attack
the world. It’s dated in 1944, an amusing alternative history in which
World War II doesn’t happen, despite this, there are advanced warships,
advanced flying machines, but then again there is also magic, so I can’t
complain too much about historical inaccuracy. The plot of Miyafugi
joining the strike witches to find her father, who invented their flying
apparatus disappears rather quickly and you don’t hear of it again.
“Fighting Aliens has never been this cute!” The series focuses not so
much on the weak storyline, that only appears every few episodes, but on
how many times it can show off the sexuality of the females main
characters. There are almost no male characters that have names, the
male characters all wear suitable pants and shirts, however all of the
girls are 10-20, only wear a shirt and underwear, no skirts or pants.
There
are several bathhouse scenes throughout the series which is used to
expose boobs and allow for the characters to focus upon each other’s
bodies and do a great deal of fan servicing. It’s comical the amount of
times they do it, or the character will be flying past and it will focus
upon her bust, or from behind, the camera posed between her legs so you
see her underwear, camel toe and off into the distance, characters will
begin talking and it will focus upon their bust or their crotch rather
than their face.
Combat
is rather quick in most scenes, they fly around using machine guns or
sniper rifles, have magical shields which provide a rather cool visual
effect, for some reason one of the characters has a sword and uses it on
what seems like random occasions. The Aliens are poorly done, they are
just black with red markings over them, and one of them looked like a
rubix cube, the alien’s are Spaceships themselves, and don’t seem to be
intellectual beings.
The
series was ok in some aspects, it was nothing brilliant, and if you’re
looking for a great storyline there are much better titles that you
could watch, however if you want something to amuse you and laugh at,
this series will do just that.
