Star Wars the Clone Was Season 1 Volume 3

It’s a shame that Warner Bros. did not release this series all at once because the wait was excruciating. This computer animated series is not only well written but features some beautiful state of the art graphics which simply look amazing and match that with some great voice acting and this is easily the best thing to come out of Star Wars in a long time.

Continuing from the previous instalment, the series revolves around Anakin Skywalker, his padawan Ahsoka and Obi-Wan Kenobi as the war between the Separatists and the clone army heats up. Featuring 6 episodes, many of the stories are linked to previous events in the mythology or they may contain various chapters, such as episode 11 and 12 which is a two “parter”.

Episode 11 begins with Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi kidnapping the nefarious and dangerous Count Dooku in an attempt to end the war, however as fate intervenes, all three are kidnapped by space pirates. To compound the situation, all three must work together to escape their captors which causes a rift between Skywalk and Kenobi.

Although the series can be quite top-heavy with action, the drama is actually quite intriguing and it’s usually those episodes which are the best. For example, in episode 13, Anakin is injured on a distant planet and his padawan Ahsoka and another Jedi Master, Aayla Secura ask the peaceful inhabitants of this planet to help them, however they feel that their involvement will only cause the wrath of the Separatists. These internal struggles and politics makes the series quite realistic at times and actually ensures that it can be watched by everyone.

This volume finishes with Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi uncovering a traitor among them as light sabres begin to fly and the action heats up and when it’s someone close to their council, what path will they choose? The best aspect of this series is that it’s officially part of the Star Wars lore and you can really see Anakin slowly change in this series, until of course he eventually becomes Darth Vader in Episode III. With six episodes in this current volume, Star Wars the Clone Was Season 1 Volume 3 is the perfect animated series that comes highly recommended from Impulse Gamer!
