Return of the Chef
Michelin star winner John Burton is back in this interesting dvd that
follows on from his progress in the last DVD titled French Leave in
which John made the dreaded transition to work in the high stakes
kitchens of France, removing himself entirely out of any comfort zone to
pursue this endeavour.
This time it's the other way round as John and his family make the move
from the hustle and bustle and put themselves into the challenge of
opening up a restaurant in Devon and all the drama that ensues,
especially when they put all their finances and resources into it.
It makes for compelling viewing with quality being more than sufficient
in both video and audio. The recipes that we get to check out are
actually compelling enough for the cook of the family to have a go at
and the real life story unfolding is enough to make sure that everyone
watches all the way through.
Almost a character in and of itself is the New Angel in Dartmouth, the
restaurant that the Burton family have purchased. Once a quality
restaurant, John will have to put all his knowledge and resources to the
test to revive the ailing eatery.
Compelling viewing.
