Red Dwarf VII
The galaxies best space comedy continues with the
seventh instalment of Red Dwarf. There are a few changes to the show
with the eventual absence of Rimmer however the overall storyline
progresses well. This series has an extra two shows on it and a deluge
of extras on the third disc.
It’s funny but even as this series, grows in age, the
amusement remains and I didn’t find any of the jokes to be too dated.
There are some great moments on these discs and whilst I would not
recommend this disc to a newcomer, existing fans are going to be howling
with delight.
Kochanski has a job on her hands filling in for
Rimmer when he disappears, however it’s handled well, and although a
little odd at first she does work her way into your confidence and
heart. It’s a testament to the skills of the group as introducing a new
character in the seventh and succeeding is no small trick.
This series yet again is a must purchase and a very
worthy addition to the Red Dwarf mythos. The release is worth the
purchase for the extras alone and here we are with a whole series of one
of the finest comedies ever.
