Millennium: Season 1
A story of
infidelity and a society basically intolerant of such behaviour, A
French Woman tells the tale of Jeanne whose husband Louis is in the
army. When he is imprisoned, Jeanne rewards him by having a tawdry
affair.
As the movie
progresses, Jeanne finds herself in a position to consummate other
affairs behind poor Louis back. As a viewer I didnt find that the
story offered any real depth to speak of. If you were in it for the
naughty bits then thats fine, but if you wanted something more, you
were left wondering why you bothered.
The movie attempts
to have a look at what women left behind during a war are faced with,
especially when they are passionate like Jeanne but I just couldnt find
much beyond that to appreciate.
The video and audio
arent much to write home about on this release and there are only a
smattering of extras that quite frankly I dont class as such. Trailers
are not extras in my book. Here is what you can expect from the movies
extras:

I can see where
director Rgis Wargnier was trying to head
with this film, I just failed to find it convincing. Give it a rent and
see what you think before committing to the purchase. |
